On Alchemy

BungaloBear5: hey
BungaloBear5: i have another ?
CinciDood: hi
BungaloBear5: what is alchemy....? i looked it up in a dictionary and it didnt sound right
CinciDood: did it have something to do with turning lead into gold?
BungaloBear5: yeah...
BungaloBear5: lol
CinciDood: well, think about how that applies to trade, as far as the authors' argue...
CinciDood: lead into gold... pretty cool, huh?
CinciDood: well, it can only be practiced by wizards
CinciDood: that means only in fantasy land at Disney world
CinciDood: but they argue that trade makes us better off.
BungaloBear5: turning specialization into trade?? i dnot know
CinciDood: we can essentially consume more than we produce in a way
CinciDood: well, the argument that we can enjoy MORE if we specialize and trade.
CinciDood: and the big question is "how does that happen?" How can we have "more"? is it magic? or is it something more "economical".
CinciDood: think about it that way
BungaloBear5: ohh.. ok
CinciDood: hey, that was an interesting IM... can I cut it and paste it into the blog? it may help some others.
BungaloBear5: yeah sure
CinciDood: ok, thanks
