Extra Credit Opportunity

The 6:00 Series is presenting the film Fuel on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Fisher Auditorium.

http://www.iup.edu/page.aspx?id=103194

You can get one percentage point extra credit (remember, you need to earn as many points as possible out of 100 percentage points in the class) if you attend this film and submit some evidence of having been there.

There are two ways:

(A) Typically for these events they will distribute slips of paper which document your attendance at the event. Just turn that in with your name and banner id written on it.

in the event they do not hand out these "attendance slips",

(b) write up one paragraph on:

What was the most interesting thing you learned from this film? Explain why you found this so interesting. (Was there something you never thought of before? Did something challenge your preconceived notion? Did you change your way of thinking?

Comment: I know not everyone will be able to attend. You may have schedule conflicts. Don't fret. I'll give one or two other opportunities to get some extra credit points.

YOU MUST TURN IN THE SLIP OR YOUR WRITTEN PARAGRAPH IN CLASS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2011. IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ANY OTHER TIME.

Note also, this film is available as DVD and streaming video from Netflix. You can watch it that way as well, but you are still bound by the February 1 deadline.

Welcome to Spring Semester 2011

This is the class weblog for Prof. Jack Julian's Econ 122, Principles of Microeconomics, course. Here you can occasionally find some important information. I will place answer keys for sample problems that are generally available for test study here. I will also place here announcements, administrative updates, and other random things.

(You can scroll through some past postings to see what kinds of things I've posted in previous semesters.)

Good luck this semester. This course can be challenging for many students. Make sure you keep up with the readings in the texts. Make sure you take good notes. If you miss a class, remember, it is your obligation to get the class notes from a friend in class. (I will note that any student reserves the right to not share his or her notes with anyone.)
