Welcome!

You have reached the blog spot for Prof. Jack Julian's Econ 122 (Principles of Microeconomics) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

When you return to this page, you should reload or refresh the page to ensure you have the most current content. Often you computer can bring up the cached page without updates. The same thing goes for connecting to the I-drive. It, too, often needs to be refreshed.

We spent much of the first day of class going over the syllabus. Please make sure you have read all parts of the syllabus. You are responsible for knowing what is on the syllabus. Moreover, please refrain from using cell phones and/or other communication devices in class. Not only is this a distraction to the instructor and possibly others around you, it is a clear sign that you are not paying attention and lack respect for the classroom environment. It is not so much that your instructor has a grand ego that begs for attention. It is just simply inappropriate for the classroom. (If tweeting, who really cares that you're sitting in class listening to the most boring or most enlightening lecture ever. Communicating with friends, family and significant others can wait until after class.)

I'm not being unreasonable. I have a high tolerance of many things. It may not seem like a big deal. It's just best if you leave it alone. (You wouldn't want your cell phone to ring or you wouldn't take a personal call or send a text during a staff meeting with your employer, would you? If so, you might not get good reviews from your superiors and you may find yourself looking for another job.)

If you take notes on a personal computer, that is fine. However be aware there are a number of diagrams and equations that may make it difficult for you to draw or typeset.

I hope we have a great time this semester! It will be as fun as you help make it.
